Invitation to a training on Biostatistics in January 2026

Today, we have access to a wide range of statistical methods—from simple linear regression to complex machine learning algorithms. Software like R, Stata, or SPSS is easy to install—but before diving in, it is important to understand the basics.

In this one-day workshop, we will cover the core concepts of biostatistics—without using software, but with a strong focus on the underlying mathematical foundations. Whether you are using a t-test or building a random forest, the principles remain the same.

You have probably come across terms like p-values, confidence intervals, and statistical significance in the literature—we will explain what they really mean. We will also walk through topics like regression models and identifying sources of variability (e.g., in quality control) in a practical, step-by-step way.

And if one day you trade laboratory diagnostics for astrophysics—the statistical principles will still be the same.
